On Tuesday, 19 June, parents were invited to visit Holy Spirit for our grand Gymnastics Showcase.
Parents braved the terrible weather conditions to watch our spectacular performances.
This year we have, for the first time, engaged the services of Dance Fever to run our gymnastics program. Our wonderful, dynamic and engaging instructors from Dance Fever continued their great work with the children on Tuesday, having students demonstrate a range of skills, such as balancing, tumbling, etc.
Students were very excited to have the opportunity to demonstrate the range of gymnastics skills and movements they have learnt this semester to their parents.

Our Year 1 stars have been leveling up their literacy skills by crafting Super Sentences! To make their writing truly ""super,"" the students are becoming grammar detectives. They are learning how to build strong sentences by identifying the two most important ingredients: The ""Who"" or ""What"": Identifying Nouns and highlighting them in Blue. ๐ต The ""Action"": Identifying Verbs (what they are doing!) and highlighting them in Orange. ๐ By color-coding their work, our young authors are ensuring every sentence tells a complete and exciting story. In English, year 5 have been learning how to compose persuasive texts. Students are writing texts to try to convince their teachers that 'Students should choose their own seats in class'. ๐ช Some of their reasons include the fact that they will be happier students, they will be more focussed on their learning and it will also teach them responsibility. ๐ They are experimenting with the use of both modal and emotive language in their writing to clearly present their arguments in the hope their teachers will share their opinion. Well done year 5.

Our Year 4 students gently reflected on the beautiful theme of hope as they prayerfully wrote their Lenten promises. Like a butterfly emerging and growing, they considered how small, intentional changes can lead to transformation. With open hearts, they chose meaningful ways to grow closer to God, show kindness to others, and make loving choices each day โ trusting that even small acts can help them blossom into the people God calls them to be.

Today our school community gathered in prayer to mark Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the sacred season of Lent. Through reverent liturgies and Mass, our students, families and staff came together to receive ashes โ a visible sign of our faith and a reminder of our desire to turn our hearts back to God. Our Year 6 students joined 20 other primary schools across the Diocese of Parramatta for a faith-filled Encounter Day at Penrith. Led by Mission Team, together with Catholic Youth Parramatta and Gen Bryant, students sang, danced and listened to stories reminding us we are made to make waves โ one small act of goodness can create a ripple effect. Through prayer and soul journaling, they reflected on being like Jesus and recognising the dignity of every person. A beautiful day encouraging our Year 6 leaders to go out and make a difference! ๐

The Year 6 students are studying Margaret Preston, a famous Australian artist, who used printmaking in many of her artworks. They used her artwork 'Protea' as inspiration to create a floral artwork ๐ชปusing the printmaking technique known as collagraphy. Some of these creative artworks will be displayed in the office foyer over the coming weeks.
