🏡 Year 4 Persuasive Writing in Action! ✏️ Our Year 4 students have been learning how to use precise vocabulary to persuade and engage their audience. As part of their persuasive writing unit, students stepped into the role of real estate agents and created texts to “sell” homes using descriptive and powerful language. It was wonderful to see their creativity shine as they described spacious living areas, breathtaking views, and beautifully designed homes. Well done, Year 4, for using your words so effectively to persuade and inform! 👏📚

This week, our Year 3 students continued work on persuasive texts. For this task, students focused on the opinion: "Year 3 should be allowed to go on an excursion EVERY term". Students sorted reasons that connected to different arguments and justified their thinking. There was lots of rich discussion, collaboration and sharing of ideas as they explained their choices. 📚💬

Today our Year 5 students attended Parish Mass, celebrated by Father Peter. During the Mass, Father Peter reflected on the Gospel of Matthew, reminding us that God is merciful and ready to forgive. We were encouraged to always be ready to forgive those who hurt us. 💜 He quoted the gospel stating we must forgive one another 'not 7 times but 77 times'. Thank you to all of the families who were able to join us in prayer at mass today. 🙏

Our Year 6 students have been exploring the geometric properties of polygons They have been investigating both line and rotational symmetry. They have also engaged in complex spatial reasoning tasks, investigating how shapes can be dissected and reconstructed into new forms based on their properties. Can you transform a rectangle into a parallelogram? It was wonderful to witness the students sharing these sophisticated problem-solving tasks with their parents this week.

What an incredible day at the track! Our 2026 School Cross Country was a showcase of pure determination, school pride, and some of the fiercest competition we’ve seen in years. From the first whistle to the final sprint, our students gave it their absolute all. Whether they were aiming for a personal best or simply pushing through to cross that finish line, the dedication on display was nothing short of inspiring. Congratulations to all our competitors. Your resilience and energy made the day a resounding success. We are so proud of every student who stepped up to the starting line today! Stay tuned for the official results and a gallery of photos from the event in this weeks newsletter. #CrossCountry2026 #SchoolSpirit #StudentSuccess #GritAndGrace"

Belong to Something Greater 🧩💛 Yesterday afternoon, Year 4 had so much fun with a special craft activity! Each student created a jigsaw piece about themselves, and together we built a big image showing that we are all different, but we belong to something greater – our Holy Spirit community. We especially loved having parents join in and be part of the fun—what a wonderful way to celebrate community and connection!

Our amazing Year 1 students have been busy leveling up their addition skills this week! We’ve moved beyond counting everything from one. Now, our little mathematicians are mastering the "Counting On" strategy. Instead of starting at the beginning, they learn to identify the biggest number, lock it in their brains, and then count on the second collection to find the total. 🧠✨
