📚✨ Tricky Words, Here We Come! ✨📚 Our Kindergarten superstars have been busy practising their tricky words through reading and writing! 🌟 These words don't always follow the usual phonics rules, so they take extra effort to learn. We are so proud of the persistence, confidence and enthusiasm our students are showing as they work towards becoming independent readers and writers. 💛

Our Year 2 mathematicians have been exploring 3D objects by exploring rectangular prisms through hands-on learning, creating their own models of cubes to deepen their understanding. As they built, students described their cubes using mathematical language such as faces, edges, and vertices, and recognised that the flat surfaces of these objects are 2D shapes. It’s been wonderful to see students confidently applying their learning and explaining their thinking — check out their fantastic cube creations!

What a fantastic Pyjama Day at our school last Friday! 💤💙 It was wonderful to see our students and staff embracing the day, with many arriving in their favourite pyjamas and some even twinning with friends and teachers! A huge thank you to our families for their generous support of the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Thanks to your kindness, we have already raised almost $300 through the Qkr! app. If you haven't had a chance to donate yet, the Qkr! app will remain open until the end of next week. Every contribution helps support those in our community who are experiencing hardship during the colder months. This week, our Year 5 students gathered as a faith community to celebrate Mass. Students learned about the courage and faithfulness of the prophet Elijah, whose trust in God inspired those around him. In the Gospel (Matthew 6:7 - 15), Jesus taught His disciples how to pray through the Lord's Prayer, reminding us to trust in our Heavenly Father and to show forgiveness to others. As we prayed together, students were encouraged to reflect on how they can follow Elijah's example of faith, deepen their relationship with God through prayer, and live out Jesus' call to forgive and love one another each day. May we continue to grow in faith, gratitude, and compassion as a community.

⚽ Stage 3 Soccer Gala Day Success! ⚽ On Wednesday, our Stage 3 Boys and Girls teams headed to Jamison Park for an action-packed day of soccer! All three teams played with immense heart, teamwork, and grit—including a few spectacular goals (one all the way from midfield!). While there were plenty of hard-earned victories and close battles, the real win was the incredible sportsmanship and pride our students showed. They were outstanding ambassadors for our school from start to finish. 🌟 A massive thank you to our amazing parent community for the sideline cheers, and a huge shoutout to our fantastic parent coaches—Mrs Cassar, Mr Spears, and Mr Thomas—for volunteering their time and expertise. ❄️❤️ Do Something! ❤️❄️ A huge thank you to our Year 4, 5 and 6 students for participating in our Winter Sleep out Experience and for generously donating winter accessories and blankets to support those in need this winter. Inspired by the theme "Do Something," students discovered that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Through four engaging stations, students explored the challenges faced by those experiencing hardship and reflected on how they can show love, compassion and kindness to others. Thank you to Joan and Janice from St Vincent de Paul for sharing the important work they do and helping our students see how their support can make a real difference. Together, we are learning to live like Christ by caring for those most in need. 💙🙏

❤️ A Heartfelt Thank You ❤️ We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Wickramanayaka family, especially Elena and Aidan, for their incredibly generous donation of sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses to support our St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. As the colder months settle in, many members of our community are facing the harsh reality of homelessness and financial hardship. Our Year 5 scientists have been investigating mixtures, chemical changes, and the properties of materials through a range of exciting hands-on experiments. Students explored density using oil, water, and food colouring, observed the colourful movement of liquids in the Magic Milk experiment, and compared different material combinations to determine whether they formed mixtures or new substances. Through predicting, observing, recording results, and discussing their findings, students developed their scientific inquiry skills while discovering how scientists explain the world around them. 🔬🧪 A fantastic week of curiosity, investigation, and learning!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bronte and Bryleigh's grandma, who has generously crocheted and donated 50 beautiful blankets for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Our Winter Sleepout will take place this Thursday for students in Years 4–6. As part of the experience, students are invited to donate blankets and warm accessories to support people in our community during the colder months. Bronte and Bryleigh's grandma's incredible handmade blankets are a wonderful contribution and a fantastic example of kindness, generosity and community spirit. There is still time for families to donate blankets, beanies, scarves, gloves and other warm accessories, even if their child is not participating in the Winter Sleepout. Donations can be left at the school office. Thank you to Bronte and Bryleigh's grandma for helping us support the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal and make a difference in the lives of others this winter. ❤️

Year 3 have been exploring the fascinating world of printmaking, using a variety of textured materials to design and create their very own printing plates. From corrugated cardboard creating bold stripes to bubble wrap making patterned circles, students experimented with different textures to bring their ideas to life. Using planning sketches, hands-on materials, and plenty of creativity, our young artists carefully arranged, glued, and constructed unique artworks ready for printing. It was wonderful to see students problem-solve, collaborate, and express themselves through this exciting artistic process.
