Parental Involvement

Parents are the first educators of their children in faith and life and we work in partnership with parents to provide the most holistic education program for our students.

We invite parents to take an active part in Holy Spirit Primary, in many ways.

Our School Committee, that consists of parent representatives from each class, meet regularly to share ideas and discuss school initiatives. Our parents are also involved in fundraising. Funds raised enable the purchase of a great variety of resources for the children. Parents assist in the uniform shop, library and graduation committee.

Our open door policy encourages parents to become involved where possible, to enhance the teaching and learning program. As a class helper, parents hear students read and assist with ‘electives’, such as art and craft, cooking and yoga. Families are also welcome to be involved in the religious and community life of our school, and to attend school gatherings. School gatherings include assemblies, information nights, concerts and liturgies, and many other events throughout the school year.

We value our close working partnership with our parents and families, and the school is always very appreciative of the volunteer work parents do for the school.

Volunteer Training

We welcome the contribution volunteers make to the life of our school.

As we are committed to keeping students safe, all volunteers in schools are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module before volunteering. These checks reduce potential risk and forms part of our strategy to build child safe communities.
