🌟 Empowering Our Future Leaders: Year 6 Leadership Day! 🌟 Our Year 6 students recently stepped up to the challenge during our Stage 3 Leadership Day! This special event was all about moving beyond the idea of leadership as just a badge or a title, focusing instead on the purposeful skills, attitudes, and behaviors that allow every student to make a positive difference. Through the "Explore, Discover, Act" incursion, our students dove into a day of self-discovery and teamwork. They Explored what it means to lead with a shared vocabulary, Discovered their own potential through hands-on challenges, and learned how to Act authentically by applying these skills to their daily lives. We are so proud of the maturity and connection Year 6 showed. They aren’t just preparing to be leaders in the future; they are leading right now! 🚀🤝

🎨 From Pixels to Pottery: Year 1’s Robotic Creations! 🤖 Our Year 1 artists have been having so much fun bringing the digital world to life in the art studio this week! We’ve been exploring how technology and tradition can mix by sculpting our very own robots out of clay. It was amazing to watch the children transform simple lumps of clay into futuristic friends using some impressive new skills. They practiced pinching and pulling to find the perfect shapes, learned how to roll slabs for sturdy robot bodies, and mastered the "magic glue" of scoring and slipping to make sure those antennas and arms stay put. To give their bots that real mechanical feel, they decorated them with pipelines and buttons, adding so much character to every piece! We are so proud of their hard work and the way they used their hands to turn a bit of earth into something truly out of this world. Year 4 have been exploring multiplication through arrays! ➕🔢 Using rows and columns, students used skip counting, repeated addition and multiplication facts to solve equations and build a deeper understanding of multiplication. Arrays helped turn numbers into clear patterns while making maths fun and engaging! Well done to Year 4 Mathematicians👏👏

Our Year 3 students brought the energy to today’s ZING lesson! 🏀 The focus was on dribbling, throwing, catching and shooting as students practised important basketball skills. They worked hard on dribbling with one hand and used the correct technique to make their throws and shots powerful and accurate. Great teamwork and effort by everyone! 👏

🔟 Friends of Ten in Year 1! 🔟 Our Year 1 mathematicians have been busy mastering their Friends of Ten! 🧠✨ To help these number pairings stick, we’ve been put to the test with some friendly competition. Students have been using tens frames to challenge their partners, racing to see who can be the first to call out the matching ""friend"" to make ten. Whether it’s 6+4 or 8+2, our learners are getting faster every day! It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing confidence with their mental math strategies. Ask your little mathematician tonight: ""I have a 3, who is my friend of ten?"" 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ #Year1Maths #FriendsofTen #ActiveLearning #FutureMathematicians

Our Year 5 students have been hard at work this week. In English, they have been reading a biography of Peter Lalor, a key figure in Australia's democratic history. To show off their comprehension skills, the students have been practicing the skill of paraphrasing. This involves taking complex information from the text and rewording it in their own way while retaining the original meaning. ✍️ Today's focus was the introduction. The students loved using their whiteboards to draft their ideas, tweak their sentences, and share their sentences with their peers. 💡💬 Keep up the good work.

Last Friday, Year 3 participated in the World of Maths incursion, exploring 17 engaging, hands-on activities designed to build and apply a wide range of mathematical skills. Students worked both collaboratively and independently to solve problems, think critically, and use strategies involving number, measurement, patterns, and reasoning. It was fantastic to see students making real-world connections and discovering that maths can be both fun and meaningful!

Yesterday, Year 4 attended the “Freaky Forces” science incursion in the MPA and enjoyed a hands-on exploration of forces. Students investigated how friction affects movement, how centre of gravity impacts balance, and why objects behave the way they do. A highlight was the balloon experiment—standing on balloons without popping them—showing how spreading force over a larger area prevents breakage. A fun and engaging way to bring science to life!

From hands-on challenges to teamwork triumphs, our little learners showed off some seriously impressive problem-solving skills. The best part? Seeing those ""Aha!"" moments when a tricky puzzle finally clicked! 💡 Check out some of the highlights from our day of counting, measuring, and (most importantly) having a blast! 📸👇 #WorldOfMaths #Year1Adventures #LearningThroughPlay #FutureMathematicians #SchoolExcursion #HandsOnLearning"
