Gymnastics Fever Hits Holy Spirit
This term children from Holy Spirit have been involved in a gymnastics program run by the amazing DanceFever Multisport group, which has been partly subsidised by a Sporting Schools grant received by the school. Sporting Schools brings together schools and sports to help get Aussie children active in their local communities.
Each Tuesday a team of dynamic young trainers bring a wide variety of equipment to our school. They set up in our Cola and MPA and then proceed to run 7 sessions of gymnastics! The children are working on skills of jumping and landing, balance, rotation, locomotion and object manipulation and are absolutely loving the program!

๐ HUGE Congratulations to Rich Starwin! ๐ What a sensational performance! The whole Holy Spirit community is absolutely bursting with pride for our very own Rich Starwin, who has just bowled us over with his incredible achievement: making the Parramatta Team for cricket! ๐ฅณ Rich Starwin faced some seriously tough competition and absolutely smashed it out of the park during the trials. Making a representative team like this is a massive milestone and a testament to his dedication, skill, and hours spent in the nets and on the pitch. We know he'll be an absolute all-rounder and a key player for Parramatta. This is a huge moment, and we can't wait to follow Rich's journey as he takes the crease with his new squad. Go get 'em, Rich! We're all cheering for you! ๐

This week in Religion, Year 4 began our new unit titled โHow Can Jesus Be God and Human?โ โ๏ธ Weโve been taking a closer look at Jesus โ discovering that He is both fully God and fully human. Using our RE Learning Board, students work together in groups and explored symbols that show Jesusโ human side (like the manger, tools, and family) and His divine side (like the empty tomb, water turned to wine, and the Transfiguration). Through thoughtful discussion and creative activities, students are deepening their understanding of who Jesus truly is โ a wonderful mystery at the heart of our faith.

What a clucking exciting week it's been in kindy! ๐ We've been busy little learners, diving into the wonderful world of chickens! We've heard the egg-cellent news that Farmer Campbell will be dropping off some eggs next week! ๐ฅ Stay tuned to ""watch this space"" to see what exciting things are about to hatch in our classroom! Caring for Creation. Year 3 students read the Creation story for Catholic Missionโs and reflected on how they can keep our planet healthy and clean. They then discussed how individuals could make a difference and shared their favorite parts of creation by creating 'Seeds of Hope' artwork.

๐ Kindy Buddies in Action! ๐ค What a special day for our current Kindy students! While our 2026 Kindy Orientation took place, our youngest learners spent quality time with their fantastic Year 5 buddies! The Year 5 students took on a wonderful leadership role, guiding their Kindy friends through fun activities, learning adventures, and exciting explorations around the school. It was a beautiful display of teamwork, mentorship, and friendship.

๐ What an absolutely fantastic day we had yesterday at the Stage 2 & 3 Basketball Gala Day! ๐ Our students hit the court with incredible energy and enthusiasm, showing off their amazing skills and sportsmanship. From epic layups to swishes from downtown, every student gave it their all! We saw some amazing teamwork, hustle, and incredible plays. Mrs. Garzaniti and all of the teachers are absolutely buzzing with excitement after spending time with our Kindy 2026 students at Orientation today! ๐ฅณ๐โ๏ธ Their smiles, laughter, and passion for learning were already shining through!
