Holy Spirit Kindergarten students, together with their teachers and helpers, recently visited Calmsley Hill City Farm as part of their Science unit. Here they were able to get up close to a range of native and farmyard animals.
The children were very excited about their visit to the farm.
Some of the children told us what they liked ...
I liked when we patted the animals and when we went on the tractor ride. I also liked when I volunteered to have a go using the whip. I felt a bit nervous but it was fantastic.

I liked when the dog rounded up the sheep. I also liked the tractor ride because we went down a big hill. I was a little bit scared but it was great fun.

I patted a rabbit and a chick and they felt really soft. When I milked the cow milk came out of the udder. I felt very excited to go to the farm.

🏏 HUGE Congratulations to Rich Starwin! 💙 What a sensational performance! The whole Holy Spirit community is absolutely bursting with pride for our very own Rich Starwin, who has just bowled us over with his incredible achievement: making the Parramatta Team for cricket! 🥳 Rich Starwin faced some seriously tough competition and absolutely smashed it out of the park during the trials. Making a representative team like this is a massive milestone and a testament to his dedication, skill, and hours spent in the nets and on the pitch. We know he'll be an absolute all-rounder and a key player for Parramatta. This is a huge moment, and we can't wait to follow Rich's journey as he takes the crease with his new squad. This week in Religion, Year 4 began our new unit titled “How Can Jesus Be God and Human?” ✝️ We’ve been taking a closer look at Jesus — discovering that He is both fully God and fully human. Using our RE Learning Board, students work together in groups and explored symbols that show Jesus’ human side (like the manger, tools, and family) and His divine side (like the empty tomb, water turned to wine, and the Transfiguration). Through thoughtful discussion and creative activities, students are deepening their understanding of who Jesus truly is — a wonderful mystery at the heart of our faith.

What a clucking exciting week it's been in kindy! 🐓 We've been busy little learners, diving into the wonderful world of chickens! Caring for Creation. Year 3 students read the Creation story for Catholic Mission’s and reflected on how they can keep our planet healthy and clean. They then discussed how individuals could make a difference and shared their favorite parts of creation by creating 'Seeds of Hope' artwork.

🍎 Kindy Buddies in Action! 🤝 What a special day for our current Kindy students! While our 2026 Kindy Orientation took place, our youngest learners spent quality time with their fantastic Year 5 buddies! The Year 5 students took on a wonderful leadership role, guiding their Kindy friends through fun activities, learning adventures, and exciting explorations around the school. It was a beautiful display of teamwork, mentorship, and friendship.

🏀 What an absolutely fantastic day we had yesterday at the Stage 2 & 3 Basketball Gala Day! 🎉 Our students hit the court with incredible energy and enthusiasm, showing off their amazing skills and sportsmanship. From epic layups to swishes from downtown, every student gave it their all! We saw some amazing teamwork, hustle, and incredible plays. Whether it was a win, a loss, or a draw, our students embraced every moment and learned so much. 💪
