Holy Spirit Kindergarten students, together with their teachers and helpers, recently visited Calmsley Hill City Farm as part of their Science unit. Here they were able to get up close to a range of native and farmyard animals.
The children were very excited about their visit to the farm.
Some of the children told us what they liked ...
I liked when we patted the animals and when we went on the tractor ride. I also liked when I volunteered to have a go using the whip. I felt a bit nervous but it was fantastic.

I liked when the dog rounded up the sheep. I also liked the tractor ride because we went down a big hill. I was a little bit scared but it was great fun.

I patted a rabbit and a chick and they felt really soft. When I milked the cow milk came out of the udder. I felt very excited to go to the farm.

What a fantastic experience - visiting Parliament House and spending time in our very own House of Representatives! 🇦🇺 Students stepped into the roles of Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Speaker and Serjeant-at-Arms . They debated whether a new law should be passed - schools should allocate 3 hours a day for sport 🏏⚽🏀 A lively debate, confident speeches and plenty of laughs made for an unforgettable experience. The final vote? The final count? You’ll have to ask the students! 😉

Our Stage 3 students stepped back in time during their visit to Old Parliament House, a building that is almost 100 years old and full of Australian history. As they explored the historic chambers, including the Senate and House of Representatives chambers, students discovered how important decisions were once made for the country. Through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, they examined historical artefacts and learned how democracy gives Australians a voice in their community. The excursion brought history to life in a fun and engaging way.

Our Stage 3 students woke up refreshed after a fantastic night’s sleep and are fueling up with a big breakfast before another exciting day ahead! 🇦🇺✨ Today we’re off to explore the Australian Museum of Democracy and Parliament House — an incredible opportunity to learn more about Australia’s history, leadership, and democracy firsthand. 🏛️📚 The children snd teachers are full of energy, smiles, and excitement for the adventures ahead.

What a great way to end Day 1 ! Our Stage Three students had an amazing time exploring the wonders of science at Questacon! 🔬✨ From hands-on experiments to interactive exhibits, students were fully engaged in discovering how science, technology, and innovation shape our world. There were plenty of smiles, curiosity, and “wow” moments throughout our time here ! It was fantastic to see our young scientists asking questions, investigating ideas, and having so much fun while learning. A memorable experience for everyone involved! 🧪🚀

After enjoying some lovely sunshine outdoors and sharing our lunch together, our Stage Three students visited the Australian Film Institute. During our visit, we learnt about the power of media and how text, images, and sound can all be combined to create strong and meaningful messages. It was a very engaging and educational experience that gave us a deeper understanding of storytelling and communication through film and media.

Our first stop today was the War Memorial, where the our Stage 3 students listened to many interesting stories and showed great reverence and respect throughout the visit. Lest we forget the sacrifices made by so many for the freedoms we enjoy today. It was a very moving and memorable experience for everyone involved. 🌺

Holey Moley! Year 5 are on par with greatness this week! Our students have been teeing off into golf skills and showing some impressive swing success, while also tackling hockey skills with energy, teamwork and growing confidence. It has been fantastic to see their coordination, determination and enthusiasm shining through. We are so proud of the way our Year 5 students are giving everything a go and supporting one another along the way!
