Holy Spirit Kindergarten students, together with their teachers and helpers, recently visited Calmsley Hill City Farm as part of their Science unit. Here they were able to get up close to a range of native and farmyard animals.
The children were very excited about their visit to the farm.
Some of the children told us what they liked ...
I liked when we patted the animals and when we went on the tractor ride. I also liked when I volunteered to have a go using the whip. I felt a bit nervous but it was fantastic.
Lucas KW
I liked when the dog rounded up the sheep. I also liked the tractor ride because we went down a big hill. I was a little bit scared but it was great fun.
Kaden KR
I patted a rabbit and a chick and they felt really soft. When I milked the cow milk came out of the udder. I felt very excited to go to the farm.

On Tuesday 16th September, Year 6 students journeyed to Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Seven Hills, to support their classmate, Elijah, in the Western Division Semi-Final of the Voice of Youth Competition. Elijah was one of seven students chosen to represent their school cluster at the event. The competitors delivered a wide range of speeches on topics from artificial intelligence and social media to the power of determination. Elijah's speech, "Oh Precious Life," focused on the value of life and the importance of being grateful for the gift of our own existence. All the participants spoke with remarkable passion and confidence, representing their schools with pride. Their messages prompted the audience to think and reflect, and the Year 6 students listened attentively to each speech. The Year 6 students and staff would like to extend their gratitude to Mrs. Garzaniti for providing the opportunity to attend and support their classmate. They also thank the teachers and parents for their continued support throughout the competition. Well done Elijah! We are so very proud of you.
