In Week 5 the NSW Fire Brigade came to visit Year One as part of the Safe Living PDHPE unit.
The students were taught about fire safety in the home and using the "000" emergency number responsibly. They were able to ask questions about the fire equipment and they saw the protective clothing worn by the fire fighters.
The students were able to go inside the fire truck, use the hose and hear the siren. They were able to personally thank the fire brigade for keeping the community safe.
The Year One teaching team thank the fire brigade for their generosity of spirit in sharing their knowledge about this important learning with the students.

In Health, Year 1 students explored how they could take responsibility for their own health, safety, and wellbeing, as well as that of others. They identified who influenced their decisions and actions to be healthy, safe, and physically active, and recalled people they could contact for support by creating their own personal support network.27 Nov 2025

Students have been using directions to create a range of tracks for the Bee-Bot. They then developed a navigational algorithm by applying mathematical knowledge of grid coordinates and precise movements (distance and direction). The final goal was to test and refine their code and course design, ensuring the robot successfully completed the programmed route and measured the distance traveled.
