Last Wednesday and Thursday our children were very excited to be able to purchase a special gift for the fathers, grandfathers and male carers.
Thank you to all our wonderful parents who give so generously of their time to facilitate such special events! Not only do they turn up on the day to sell gifts, but the organise to purchase and wrap as well, ensuring that all children can take something very special home to their father figures.

Our Year 6 students joined 20 other primary schools across the Diocese of Parramatta for a faith-filled Encounter Day at Penrith. Led by Mission Team, together with Catholic Youth Parramatta and Gen Bryant, students sang, danced and listened to stories reminding us we are made to make waves โ one small act of goodness can create a ripple effect. Through prayer and soul journaling, they reflected on being like Jesus and recognising the dignity of every person. A beautiful day encouraging our Year 6 leaders to go out and make a difference! ๐

The Year 6 students are studying Margaret Preston, a famous Australian artist, who used printmaking in many of her artworks. They used her artwork 'Protea' as inspiration to create a floral artwork ๐ชปusing the printmaking technique known as collagraphy. Some of these creative artworks will be displayed in the office foyer over the coming weeks.

Today, representatives from our SRC attended the Project Compassion launch for 2026 at St John XXIII in Stanhope Gardens. They listened to stories and learned how Caritas is working to help people in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Fiji and Gaza. They are excited to work with teachers to plan our Walk for Water event this year.๐ง

Number Detectives in Year 2! ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ Our Year 2s are becoming experts at "building" numbers! This week, we aren't just writing digitsโweโre using all sorts of fun tools to see how numbers really work. Weโve been using ten frames, number lines, bundles to get hands-on with tens and ones and beadstrings. In Religion, the students in Year 5 are exploring the idea of hardship and poverty as part of their unit titled 'Why do bad things happen?' Today they were working together to classify a variety of items as either a want or a need and then justify their choices. As a group they decided items such as a play station or tv ๐บ were classified as a want and not a need. Well done Year 5.
